We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Kathy Morledge has joined the Hope Academy School Board! Dr. Morledge has worked in public education for more than 40 years. She has served as a teacher, counselor, principal, professional developer, lobbyist, editor, curriculum developer, district administrator, professional organization assistant executive director, college professor and leadership specialist. In all of those positions, she has kept the focus on children.
Dr. Morledge led the creation, implementation, and development of the Master Principal Institute in Arkansas. The Institute has been replicated in other states.
While serving as assistant superintendent in Springdale Schools, Dr. Morledge led a district-wide initiative in literacy. The purpose of the three-year initiative was to ensure that all children could access reading and writing on grade level and to ensure that the teachers who served those children had the literacy knowledge and skills that they needed to provide success for them.
Currently, Dr. Morledge works as the Leadership Specialist for the Northwest Arkansas Education Service Cooperative and also works with the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education for the Arkansas Department of Education developing leadership training materials and designing training for beginning administrators.
